About Roger
Roger Pimenta is a Canadian based photographer who's assignments and personal pursuits have taken him to all corners of the globe. His work focuses on documentary / reportage as well as adventure travel assignments / projects. A regular contributor to numerous press and photo agencies, his images have been widely published by media outlets, journals, and publications around the world covering a broad range of topics: environmental, social activism, culture, adventure travel, sports and more.
Having covered stories and photographed in over 40 countries, and 6 continents, (Australia eludes him); he’s amassed an archive of experiences he readily shares through stories, various public discussions, educational speaking engagements, and as a regular guest presenter at workshops held all over the world.
In recent years, Roger has been working on assignment in the world’s Polar regions as a guide and photographer / film maker for a number of expedition companies. He not only documents the culture, environment, wildlife, and the travellers to these extreme places; he also leads workshops, and photo clinics with an emphasis on environmental story telling through the use of imagery.
In 2019, Roger was honoured with a Fellowship from the "Royal Canadian Geographic Society" (RCGS) for his work in promoting the Canadian Arctic, it’s culture as well as it's wildlife. Additionally for his work representing Canada on assignments all over the world.
